Seattle Mass Shooting: TikToker Who Raised Security Alarm Calls Out Organizers

A content creator had raised concerns about security measures at a popular food festival in Seattle, a day before a shooting there left three people dead and four others wounded
The gunfire erupted around 6 p.m. on Sunday in the waning hours of the Bite of Seattle, an annual festival that draws hundreds of food and retail vendors and performers. Police are investigating the shooting and urged people to avoid the area just northwest of downtown.
Police have taken one person into custody and are searching for another. Assistant Seattle Police Chief Tyrone Davis said Investigators believe the two were shooting at each other.
In a video posted on TikTok on Saturday, a content creator with the handle “leebotracks” appeared to be filming himself as he walked around the festival. In the clip, he claimed attendees were able to enter the festival with “no security, no pat down, no search to the bag.”
He later urged the organizers to introduce security measures to keep people safe.
“Make it happen. Keep the people safe. You should not be able to just walk up into this festival with all these people, with all these vendors, with no security.”
The creator addressed the shooting in a video posted late on Sunday night.
"I tried to let everybody know how security was being handled," he said. "Nobody can say I didn't try to let people know. People really were bashing me in my comment sections on the previous videos."
It is unclear what exact security measures were in place at the festival. Last year, organizers said they had a "strong record of security" after a vendor complained about a break-in.
