Red Sox Urged to Trade for Giants Star Infielder

Due to their recent historic 15-game winning streak, the Boston Red Sox have now set themselves up to be buyers at the 2026 MLB Trade Deadline.
The Red Sox are currently sporting a 53-49 record and hold the second wild card spot in the American League. With this, they should be looking to boost their roster as they fight to make the playoffs.
One of the Red Sox's top needs is another star infielder. Because of this, the Red Sox are now being urged to trade for one of the top trade candidates on the market right now.
In a recent article for The Athletic , Jim Bowden named San Francisco Giants infielder Luis Arraez as the perfect trade target for the Red Sox ahead of the deadline.
"The Red Sox could use another bat and Arraez would be a solid fit in their lineup and at second base," Bowden wrote. "Arraez consistently puts pressure on defenses with his contact ability, and he would be a big help to a Red Sox offense that ranks in the bottom third in the league in OBP."
With the Red Sox needing a high-impact infielder, it would make all the sense in the world for them to make a major push for Arraez. He would have the potential to be a great addition for the top of their batting order, as he is elite at getting on base.
Arraez's stats this season show just how impactful he is capable of being. In 97 games so far this campaign with the Giants, the three-time batting champion has an impressive .324 batting average. With how well he has been hitting this season, he made his fourth-career All-Star Game earlier this month.
It will be interesting to see if the Red Sox can swing a deal for Arraez by the deadline. The fit looks very good on paper.
