Athletics Sign Former AL Cy Young Award Winner

According to ESPN's Jeff Passan , the Athletics have signed veteran pitcher Dallas Keuchel to a minor-league contract. In addition, Passan shared that Keuchel will report to Triple-A following signing this minor-league deal.
Keuchel last pitched at the major league level during the 2024 season with the Milwaukee Brewers. In four appearances with the NL Central club that campaign, he posted a 5.40 ERA and 11 strikeouts. Following this, he was designated for assignment by the Brewers and then signed with the Chiba Lotte Marines of Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan.
Keuchel has not pitched this season and got into very limited action during the 2025 campaign with Triple-A Omaha. In seven starts with the Triple-A team last season, he had a 2-1 record, a 4.54 ERA, and 30 strikeouts.
Now, after landing this minor league contract with the Athletics, Keuchel will be looking to earn a call-up to the Athletics' major league roster. There is no harm in the A's taking a chance on the veteran pitcher with this deal. He has a ton of MLB experience and has had plenty of success in the past.
In 282 career MLB games split between the Houston Astros, Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox, Arizona Diamondbacks, Texas Rangers, Minnesota Twins, and Brewers, Keuchel has a 103-92 record and a 4.04 ERA.
