Saquon Barkley Says Dontayvion Wicks Was a 'Steal' for the Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks in a trade with the Green Bay Packers earlier this offseason, sending a 2026 fifth-round and 2027 sixth-round draft pick.
Now as his debut season with the Eagles quickly approaches, Wicks is getting some serious praise from his coaches and teammates.
"[Dontayvion Wicks] is a steal. I don't like speaking too high, because I don't want to put too much pressure, but this guy can handle it. I love everything that he's about," superstar running back Saquon Barkley told NFL reporter Kay Adams on Thursday. "I don't know how we got him."
The Eagles have a new-look wide receiver room heading into the 2026 NFL season following the departure of AJ Brown. DeVonta Smith will lead a group featuring new additions like Wicks, Makai Lemon, Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and Elijah Moore.
Wicks spent the first three seasons of his NFL career in a crowded Green Bay receiving room. Through 14 game appearances last year, he reeled in 30 catches for 332 yards and two touchdowns.
Wicks should have a bigger role in Sean Mannion's Philadelphia offense. Head coach Nick Sirianni recently likened Wicks' game to that of future Hall of Fame WR Keenan Allen.
The Eagles will open up their 2026 regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the Washington Commanders on Sept. 13.
