The president’s announcement comes after he held a rally in a Dayton, Ohio-area suburb on Saturday night, where he promised a GOP win in the midterm elections. The rally was part of a red state swing for the president, with just a month to go before the midterms as recent polling shows promising signs for Democrats in their quest to regain control of Congress.
The president has a break in the action, with no public events scheduled for Sunday beyond a morning visit to his Sterling, Va., golf club. But he’ll head to Nebraska on Monday, while Vice President Vance is scheduled to travel to Alaska.
Elsewhere, on the heels of New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) naming state Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor in the Cornell gang rape case, Thomas Giuffra, an attorney representing Jane Doe, said on CNN’s “State of the Union” he thinks there were more than seven men involved in the 2024 incident that has shocked the nation.
