The House narrowly approved a Democratic-sponsored war powers resolution with the help of four GOP lawmakers. The Senate will vote on a separate but similar resolution shortly. They come as Trump’s support for the Iran conflict is reaching a new low among his base .
The Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen on Thursday attacked two oil tankers in the Red Sea, a ramping up of the conflict since the group announced a blockade of Saudi ships attempting to go through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait earlier this week.
Dr. Erica Schwartz faced a vote in the Senate Health Committee for her nomination to be director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, but it was postponed due to attendance.

On Thursday afternoon, Trump is set to visit the Environmental Protection Agency and will make a statement about the Ratepayer Protection Pledge that he issued in March in which U.S. tech companies cover the electricity costs for their data centers, not consumers.
