The New York Jets have been holding their breath ever since they watched star running back Breece Hall suffer a non-contact injury during practice this week.
However, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn recently provided a very promising update on Hall's timeline to return.
"Breece with the groin, Mike Hill with the calf, both of those guys will be out two to three weeks. So, those guys will be ready for the regular season," Glenn told reporters .
All in all, it's great news since Hall is one of the Jets' most important players. He's coming off a season in which he ran for a career-high 1,065 yards and four touchdowns and recorded 36 catches for 350 yards and another score.
This did seem to be the way things were trending, though, given Glenn's initial feelings about Hall's injury after the practice.
βI donβt think it was a big deal,β he said via Adam Schefter of ESPN .
Still, that doesn't make the news any less significant as the Jets seem to have dodged a huge bullet.
A second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Hall has rushed for 3,398 yards and 14 touchdowns and reeled in 188 catches for 1,642 yards and nine touchdowns in his professional career.
The Jets also gave Hall a three-year, $45.75 million contract extension this offseason, making him the third-highest-paid running back in the league.
