San Francisco 49ers star linebacker Fred Warner was all over the field in Week 3, recording a career-high 17 tackles in the team's 36-30 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Unfortunately, several of those tackles ultimately resulted in a significant punishment being handed down to Warner by the NFL on Saturday.
Warner did find himself on the wrong end of an unnecessary roughness penalty after making helmet-to-helmet contact with Cardinals tight end Trey McBride.
Predictably, the NFL did ultimately hand down a $23,882 fine on Saturday for this penalty on Warner. However, this was not the lone tackle in the game that elicited a fine for Warner.

Warner was also handed down an additional fine for a hip-drop tackle on Trey McBride that was not initially flagged in the game. In total, Warner received a $41,793 worth of fines for the two hits.
To have the kind of game that Warner had on paper and receive this hefty of a fine obviously has to be a bit dejecting. But considering Warner has made upwards of $100 million over the course of his career and is currently in the midst of a 3-year, $63 million contract, this fine likely won't be all that impactful for the four-time All-Pro.
The obvious bright side for Warner is that the 49ers are looking as dangerous as any team in football thus far this season. So Warner and company will shift their attention to an intriguing matchup with the Denver Broncos in Week 4.
