Heading into 2026, that whole idea really starts with Brandon Miller.
He's no longer the promising young scorer waiting for his chance. This feels like the season where the expectations change. Charlotte is looking for someone to take control of the offense, and Miller is in the perfect position to do exactly that.
He already showed what he's capable of last season, averaging 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game while sinking 38.3% of his shots from beyond the arc. Those aren't empty numbers, either. Miller has steadily developed into the kind of wing who can create his own offense and make defenses regret giving him even a little space.
With several veteran pieces no longer in Charlotte, the offense is expected to revolve around Miller and fellow young standout Kon Knueppel. That's a significant shift, but it's also one that feels long overdue. At some point, rebuilding teams have to stop talking about the future and actually hand the keys to the next generation. The Hornets appear ready to do just that.
For Miller, a larger role means more than simply taking more shots. That's a different kind of responsibility, and it's often what separates really good young players from future, real stars.

The talent has never been the question. Miller has the scoring touch, the confidence and the offensive game to thrive in the NBA . Now, he'll have even more opportunities to put those skills on display. He could become the face of where this franchise is headed next.
