The Cincinnati Bengals have missed the postseason three straight seasons with their superstar quarterback playing in 35 of 51 possible games due to various injuries.
Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase said that Burrow is coming into this season “more aggressive” and a bit meaner than he has been in years past.

He doesn’t always bring it out. He maybe did it once or twice since camp started, but I like it.”
Chase is calling Burrow “Mean Joe” and added that he’s coming with a bit more fire than usual.
“His demeanor is more aggressive,” Chase said. “His face is more aggressive, the way he talks is more aggressive. He’s got a little mean mug on his face a little bit. I kind of like when he’s like that.”
Burrow was on a trajectory that had him pinned as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL after he led the Bengals to the Super Bowl in 2021, eliminating the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game and falling to the Rams in a Super Bowl that came down the final possession.

Since then, the Bengals have dealt with injuries and poor roster construction with the situation bottoming out during last season’s 6-11 campaign.
It feels like a must-win season for head coach Zac Taylor with the good vibes from the Super Bowl run evaporating.
The Bengals bulked up on defense by trading for Giants defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence this offseason for the No. 10 overall pick in the draft, which the Giants used on offensive lineman Sisi Mauigoa.
The Bengals open their preseason on Thursday against the Lions and their regular season kicks off against the Buccaneers at home on Sept. 13.
