“Based on this request, I have agreed, for the future benefit of the WORLD and, likewise, the survival of a successful and prosperous Iran, to cancel the attack, subject to being able to rapidly make a DEAL,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform late Saturday night.
Elsewhere, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and CNN’s Dana Bash clashed over vaccine safety and COVID-19 in a heated interview on Sunday morning. Kennedy criticized former chief White House medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci days after the retired government scientist invoked the Fifth Amendment in a Senate hearing about the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Trump ending a subsidy program that helped keep costs down for Medicare drug coverage could undermine his administration’s message of affordability and cutting drug costs ahead of the November midterms.
The president is traveling back to Washington from Bedminster, N.J., on Sunday, just days after holding a Cabinet meeting at Camp David .
