Right-wing senator Flavio Bolsonaro pulled off a surprise first-place finish ahead of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in Sunday's election, which heads to a run-off in three weeks as neither clinched a majority. However, with Bolsonaro gaining 47 percent of the ballet to Lula’s 45 percent, he is in a “very strong position” heading into the decisive vote, says France 24’s correspondent Time Vickery.
