Rachaad White Calls Jayden Daniels the Best QB He's Played With, Not Tom Brady

He finished the year with 3,568 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns, and nine interceptions across 17 games, completing 69% of his passes, while adding 891 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the ground. More importantly, he led the Washington Commanders to a 12-5 record and their first NFC Championship Game appearance since 1991. He looked like he was about to become the next face of the league.
Then last year happened. Daniels was limited to just seven games due to multiple injuries, most notably a dislocated left elbow, finishing with 1,262 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions while completing 60.6% of his passes as the Commanders fell to 5-12.
It's clear this team needs Daniels healthy to get back to the top of the NFC, which is why Washington loaded up on new weapons for him over the past few months. One addition was running back Rachaad White, who signed with the Commanders in March after spending his first four NFL seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. White and Daniels played college ball together at Arizona State, making the fit a natural one.
Interestingly, after Daniels turned in another strong practice on Wednesday, White went as far as to call him the best quarterback he's ever played with — notable, considering White also played alongside both Baker Mayfield and Tom Brady in Tampa. "Why I think he's the best quarterback I played with, it's the way he moves, the way he has poise," White said. "Not a lot of guys can do it as well. I've seen him come through in the clutch so many times for us, and it was the same in his rookie year. When you've got a guy like that out there, and he's so talented and the way he attacks the game, you'll be in every game."
White isn't wrong. Daniels proved to be not only one of the most athletic and elusive quarterbacks in the league during his 2024 rookie campaign, but one of the clutchest as well. He led four game-winning drives that season, tied for the third-most in the league — a rare feat for a first-year player. And when injuries kept him sidelined last season, the Commanders suffered without him. It's clear that when Daniels is on the field, Washington looks like one of the best teams in the league.
With a supporting cast that now includes White, explosive tight end Chig Okonkwo, and four-time Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs, Daniels looks primed for a bounce-back 2026.
