Titans Lose Two Players to Season-Ending Injuries

The Tennessee Titans won their preseason opener against the San Francisco 49ers 19-13; however, it seems to have come at a great cost.
According to Turron Davenport of ESPN , Titans rookie tight end Jaren Kanak and third-year defensive end Jaylen Harrell are both done for the year after suffering season-ending injuries. Kanak tore his pec and Harrell tore his ACL.
It's certainly a brutal blow for the Titans as both players looked like they could have played a role for the team this season.
Kanak was a seventh-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma, where he played linebacker for his first three years and then transitioned into a tight end in 2025, recording 44 catches for 533 yards.
Harrell, on the other hand, was a seventh-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and has increased his production every year thus far. As a rookie, he had 13 tackles, and then last season, he recorded 25 tackles, 4.5 sacks and one forced fumble.
Harrell played college football at Michigan, where he racked up 78 tackles, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles and three passes defensed from 2020-23 while helping the Wolverines win a national championship. He was also named All-Big Ten honorable mention.
As for the Titans, they will now rely even more so on tight ends Gunnar Helm, Daniel Bellinger, Kyle Granson and David Martin-Robinson and defensive ends John Franklin-Myers, Jermaine Johnson II, Keldric Faulk and Jacob Martin.
