Talk about the understatement of the year! Created by Debora Cahn and debuting on Netflix in 2023, the third season of The Diplomat was released in October 2025. The drama has been a critical and commercial success for the streamer, earning multiple Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actress, Lead Actor, and Supporting Actress nods for Russell, Rufus Sewell, and Allison Janney.
