Giannis Antetokounmpo Puts NBA on Notice Ahead of First Heat Season

The Miami Heat added one of the NBA 's best overall players when they made a blockbuster offseason trade with the Milwaukee Bucks to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo .
With the Greek Freak now in South Beach, he's paired with Bam Adebayo, making for a dynamic duo in the Miami frontcourt. Many believe that will be enough to cause serious trouble for many opponents in the league, and Antetokounmpo seemingly put the NBA on notice ahead of his debut.
"This season I will dominate," he said in an NBA Europe Instagram video , which featured the superstar finishing sentences they started for him.
"The things I want to prove are that I'm one of the best players in the NBA," Antetokounmpo also said, something he's done before, and could definitely do again.
Ahead of his first season in Miami, the newest roster addition also sent an encouraging message to the fans saying, "We're bringing back the Heat."
Antetokounmpo spent the first 13 years of his career with the Bucks, where he won the back-to-back NBA MVP awards in 2019 and 2020. He also led the team to an NBA championship in 2021, where he was named the NBA Finals MVP.
The 10-time NBA All-Star is pairing up with Adebayo in South Beach, who is coming off a season where he and the Heat failed to qualify for the postseason. However, Adebayo had a historic 83-point game this past season, putting him in elite company along with all-time greats Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe Bryant.
Antetokounmpo scored a career-high 64 points back in 2023 and is now looking to add more to his legacy in Miami. In addition to playing alongside Adebayo, teammates on the starting lineup will include Tim Hardaway Jr., Davion Mitchell, and Andrew Wiggins.
And the Greek Freak learned of the Heat's full schedule on Thursday, as the NBA revealed when he'll have his return to Milwaukee. That revenge game against his former team won't be until Thursday, Jan. 28, although the Heat will also host the Bucks on Wednesday, Nov. 18, for an earlier meeting.
