Dillon Brooks Gets 'More Ammunition' for LeBron Rivalry With Suns Schedule

The NBA released the complete regular-season schedule on Thursday, giving players an indication of anticipated matchups they'll have in the coming months.
Dillon Brooks is already eyeing some of the Phoenix Suns ' games, including those against one of his rivals, LeBron James . He'll face James fewer times than in their previous meetings, since James joined the Eastern Conference's Philadelphia 76ers this offseason.
"I'm excited, that's more ammunition for me to win that game, but it should be fun," Brooks told reporters , upon learning that the Suns play the 76ers on Dec. 30, which is King James' birthday.
That game occurs in Phoenix and is the first of two matchups between the Suns and 76ers. The second one, held in Philadelphia, is on Wednesday, Feb. 17.
Brooks was also asked if he was "disappointed" about not playing James as often due to him joining the Eastern Conference.
"No, I'm not at all, but it will build up for the games that we play," he said.
Last season featured the continuation of the rivalry between James and Brooks through several Suns-Lakers games. There was also Brooks attending the Oklahoma City Thunder's playoff game against the Lakers, where he happened to have a seat just behind the basket.
That immediately sparked speculation that he was trolling James , especially when a video of Brooks grinning behind the basket emerged during James' free-throw attempts.
This season, James is accompanied by a lineup that also features multiple All-Stars with Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey, giving Brooks, Devin Booker, and the Suns a lot more to contend with on the court.
The Suns went 45-37 last season and qualified for the postseason through the SoFi NBA Play-In Tournament. They went on to get swept in the first round by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder.
They're not expected to be a championship contender this coming season, but have always been known to make things interesting. Brooks played at an NBA All-Star level last season, so it will be interesting to see whether he can finally earn that honor this coming season.
