Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington was thriving on t he StudBudz's 72-hour Twitch stream during 2026 WNBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago, but the weekend ended in drama after Carrington and Las Vegas Aces forward NaLyssa Smith, her ex-girlfriend, crossed paths at a party.
"Since mfs wanna be funny today ima be hilarious!" Carrington posted on Threads . "Yes, NaLyssa cheated on me with Deja Kelly and Aaliyah Nye +++ many more."
Carrington and NaLyssa Smith began dating during their time playing at Baylor and were briefly teammates on the Dallas Wings last year. Smith was traded to the Las Vegas Aces, where last June, and Carrington was traded to the Minnesota Lynx last August.
Kelly signed with the Aces as an undrafted rookie, but the Aces waived her in May 2025. Nye is currently a role player on the Atlanta Dream. Neither Kelly nor Nye have addressed Carrington's claim, but Smith went on Twitch to give her side of the story later Sunday.
"Whether she cheated on me and I cheated on her, why are we bringing this to the internet a year later?" Smith said . "When nobody did anything to anybody. Whether she cheated on me or I cheated on her, that has nothing to do with anybody. Like what? That don't even make sense. Then to bring it to the internet a year later is crazy. Just for fun? That's ridiculous. Especially when youβre in a healthy, happy relationship. I would never in my life do that to nobody if I was in a happy, healthy relationship."
Smith added : "Mind y'all, I'm the victim. I'm sitting there on the couch, posting, minding my business. I didn't do nothing to nobody. So the fact that people are trying to create this narrative of "Lyss came somewhere uninvited, and she came here just to spy on folks,' y'all gotta stop lying."
As of this writing, Carrington has not responded to Smith's livestream.
Carrington has yet to make her 2026 debut, as she's still recovering from the " significant mid-foot sprain " she suffered last September. Smith is averaging 11.8 points and 6.0 rebounds for the Aces this season.
