Tyler Zacharia, the husband of incoming White House press secretary Katie Zacharia , is a film producer who has worked on major Hollywood productions.
Zacharia is an entertainment and investment executive who has served as chief operations officer of 2521 Entertainment for the past four years. He has produced more than 15 films, including Silence, The Starling and Martin Scorsese's The Irishman .
Industry profiles also list him among the producers of several other projects, including Roofman .
He previously served as head of business operations at Boies Schiller Entertainment and CenterStage Technologies. Zacharia was also chief operating officer at Limelight Productions and Fabrica de Cine as well managing director and co-founding partner of Moriah Media/SharpSword Films, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Zacharia holds a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University and earned his undergraduate degree at Georgetown University.
The Zacharias have been married since 2011 and have four children together. The family lives in Southern California.
Their relationship predates Katie Zacharia's rise in conservative media and politics, including her tenure at the Department of Homeland Security and her work for Trump Media & Technology Group.
Katie Zacharia worked in Beijing as an associate on Zhong Lun Law Firm's International Practice Team from 2011 to 2013, while also managing fundraising and communications for the nonprofit Compassion for Migrant Children.
During roughly the same time, Tyler Zacharia worked in Beijing as a vice president at SGI Frontier Capital, an emerging-markets private equity firm, overseeing investments in China, Mongolia and Brazil. He worked at SGI from August 2007 until July 2013, according to his LinkedIn profile.
"I went to Georgetown for my undergraduate degree and, while there, studied abroad in Beijing, China. After graduation, I traveled back to China and met a guy who was starting a private equity fund and needed someone who spoke Chinese. I knew nothing about finance, but he hired me and I learned on the job. The company started out with four people and quickly grew to forty employees in six different countries. What I learned is that when you're doing deals in China, or really anywhere, it's not about the facts and figures as much as your people skills. That excites me way more than sitting down in front of a spreadsheet," Tyler Zacharia told Pepperdine University, according to the school's website.
President Donald Trump announced Friday that Katie Zacharia will become the next White House press secretary, replacing Karoline Leavitt. In a Truth Social post, Trump praised her work as a senior communications adviser at Trump Media & Technology Group and highlighted her previous government and media experience.
