New WNBA CBA Increases Pay for Players in All-Star Game

As part of the WNBA's new collective bargaining agreement, players are receiving more money for participating in the WNBA All-Star Game this season. The new CBA increased the All-Star prize money by 482%, according to Front Office Sports.
Every 2026 WNBA All-Star earned $15,000 for participating in the All-Star Game. New York Liberty center Jonquel Jones earned an additional $20,000 for winning the All-Star Most Valuable Player Award.
Last season, each WNBA All-Star earned $2,575 for playing in the All-Star Game. Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier was awarded an additional $5,150 for winning the All-Star MVP Award.
Collier's $7,725 total was less than the $25,000 each player on the third-place NBA All-Star team received for participating in 2026.
During the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend, the league featured three teams: USA Stars, USA Stripes and Team World.
USA Stars won the All-Star championship, and each player on that team earned $125,000. USA Stripes finished in second place, and each player was awarded $50,000. Each player on the third-place team, Team World, received $25,000.
The NBA All-Star MVP, Anthony Edwards, did not earn any additional money for winning the award.
The prize pool for the NBA Skills Challenge is $55,000, while the 3-point contest prize pool is $60,000. Meanwhile, the WNBA saw a big increase in the prize pool for their 3-point contest this season that now makes the WNBA prize pool larger than the NBA.
An insurance company called Aflac sponsored the contests and added $40,000 in prize money to the $30,000 the WNBA offers. That makes the total prize pool for the WNBA's 3-point contest $70,000, which is $10,000 more than the NBA.
