Another 18 people were wounded, Ukraine’s National Police said in a statement, when the Russian bomb hit a city street where two buses were traveling around 10 a.m. local time (.
Regional governor Vadym Filashkin accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilians, sharing images of a charred bus wreckage and blurred bodies strewn next to it.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia struck “an ordinary public transport stop” in Kramatorsk with an aerial bomb.
The bloody aftermath left debris and body parts strewn across a road in the eastern city. Ukrainian National Police Kramatorsk is part of Ukraine’s industrial Donbass region, which has been central to President Vladimir Putin war plans.
Civilian casualties have surged as Russia intensifies attacks across the Ukraine, and Ukrainian forces run low on munitions for its Patriot Missile batteries, which have been crucial to the country’s defenses.
