Ossoff rips Trump over closeness with White House aide in new Democratic attack line

Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) launched attacks on President Donald Trump at a Sunday rally in Atlanta, chastising the president over his closeness to top White House aide, Natalie Harp, opening the door for new Democratic criticism of the Trump administration.
While criticizing the president’s policies in the war with Iran and behavior in office, Ossoff made a swipe at Harp, who is almost always traveling with Trump and is often seen just feet away from him at most public outings.
“He golfs and trades stocks,” Ossoff said to the crowd of roughly 1,600 supporters. “See, he doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.”
The events Ossoff is referring to unfolded in Turkey last month, where the president flew aboard his Qatar-gifted jet to attend a NATO summit with world leaders. Upon returning, Trump said he would be flying aboard the old Air Force One to the United Kingdom rather than the Qatari jet, which was sent back for further security upgrades.
But later reporting by the Washington Post suggested Trump snuck off the old Air Force One and boarded a second plane to avoid an Iranian assassination plot .
Harp, 35, was reportedly among a select group of just four people who joined Trump aboard the separate plane, according to reporting by CNN. War Secretary Pete Hegseth and aides Dan Scavino and Walt Nauta also joined Trump on the second plane, as other officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent , as well as the White House press pool, remained on the old Air Force One.
White House Director of Communications Steven Cheung responded to Ossoff’s comments in an X post , characterizing them as diminishing Harp’s work.
“Jon Jackoff has to be the biggest cuck loser in politics,” he said. “Instead of denigrating hard working people serving their country, Jon should look deep into his soul and ask himself why he’s a miserable person who hates this country. It’s because he’s a radical, extremist Dumocrat.”
As the left’s wunderkind, Ossoff moving to rip Trump by targeting his familiarity with Harp opens the floodgates for Democratic candidates and lawmakers to also make digs at the president for the relationship with Harp.
Ossoff is among the first Democrats to call out Harp, who has been subject to scrutiny for her closeness to Trump, and some call her the “human printer” as she often carries a portable printer to provide the president with diagrams and other documents, as he prefers hard copies. The New York Times reported in 2024 that Trump refers to Harp as “sweetie,” and he values her because she stuck by his side when he was voted out of office.
Harp first caught Trump’s attention in 2019 when she credited him with saving her life by signing the Right to Try Act, which permitted further access to experimental drugs. At that time, Harp had been diagnosed with bone cancer, and Trump loved her story and invited her to speak at the 2020 Republican National Convention. In 2023, Harp sent a deeply affectionate letter to Trump, according to the New York Times , and was later tapped to work with him in the White House.
