President Donald Trump pardoned two truckers Tuesday night during a campaign rally backing Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK) and other down-ballot Republicans in Alaska .
According to the president, the two truckers in question had been “wrongly charged” by the Biden administration for fixing the engines on their trucks in ways that “violated the Democrats’ green new scam.”

“They want to put them in jail for 10 years because they fixed an engine. How sick. Now, if you murder somebody, no problem, unless a Republican does the murdering. Then it’s, you know, the electric chair, right?” continued Trump.
“I don’t know if you’ve ever heard when you give somebody a pardon, they say that means — and I don’t know how this works and why it’s an expression, but it’s well used — that means you’re as clean as a newborn baby’s a**,” the president riffed. “Now, I never understood that. Why is that so clean? But they felt that was the definition of cleanliness, and so you know we’ll do it. We’ll accept it.”
While signing the pardons on stage, Trump joked that it was “worth the eight hours in a plane.”
“What an honor. I love doing this stuff,” he added, drawing laughs from the crowd. “And don’t forget, I got eight hours going back too. Give me credit for that.”
