All over the world, people are mourning the country music icon, Dolly Parton. And her musical peers are doing so by performing covers of the music titan’s tracks.
The star has now been laid to rest, following her death on August 25 at the age of 80 after a brief battle with cancer. A private funeral was held for her at the Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville, Tennessee, on August 28, and Parton was buried next to her husband of almost 60 years, Carl Dean, who had died in March of 2025.
All over the world, people are mourning the country music icon. President Donald Trump has ordered flags to fly at half-mast in her honor for a full week.
Through her six-decade career, across 50 charted albums on the Billboard 200 chart, Parton won the hearts of people all over the world with her unique voice, songwriting, style and larger-than-life persona.
Her passing marks a rare moment of collective grief across the political spectrum, as the philanthropist and musical icon reflected a rare level of bipartisan admiration for an artist whose appeal transcended politics, geography and generations.

At the beginning of his Madison Square Garden residency on Wednesday night, Styles played a recording of Parton’s I Will Always Love You, inviting the audience to sing along, as he closed his eyes and paid his respects.
The country singer honored Parton with a cover of her song Here You Come Again while performing in Boston.
At the inaugural Daisy Chain Festival, Rodrigo performed alongside Sarah McLachlan. The two performed McLachlan's Angel and dedicated it to Parton.
The Dunboyne Diana opened her set at the Electric Picnic with a cover of Parton’s iconic track Jolene.
White performed a rock remix of Jolene in a tribute to Parton at a gig in London.
Singer-songwriter Maisie Peters played Parton’s Here You Come Again in a tribute to the late singer at Reading & Leeds festival in England.
The pop star performed Parton’s 1980 hit Old Flames (Can’t Hold a Candle to You) during her show at Pavilion Star Lake in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

Performing at Jones Beach theater, Stapleton paid tribute to Parton with a cover of I Will Always Love You.
Pitbull paid tribute to Parton with a speech and then played the 2024 song of his, Powerful Women, on which Parton featured and which sampled her classic 9 to 5.
