Iceland has voted against resuming membership talks with the European Union. The βNoβ camp won with nearly 53% of the vote, while just over 47% backed the βYesβ side, with only 9,500 votes separating the two. The Nordic island nation is already part of the EUβs single market and the Schengen area, but EU membership would bring it into the blocβs customs union and pave the way for adopting the euro.
