Former NBA superstar, actor, one of the most famous faces in the world Michael Jordan is taking note on how much today’s professional basketball league – and the sports betting world – has changed since his playing days.
During the SBC Summit in Lisbon , Jordan spoke about the current NBA field along with how it affects gambling.
“If I were to play today, what would the game be?” Jordan commented. “It’s a totally different game. But I think ultimately, the conclusion that I come to is that I just play the game. I can’t worry about what people are betting on. I can’t worry about what the stats are. I never worry about the stats. All I care about is the end of the game.”
Of course, social media has changed the way the public has complete access to players both on the court and off. The former Chicago Bulls legend knows that his personal would have been on display, but he says that’s just because fans can be so die hard.
“I remember, actually you wouldn’t know what I did before the game,” he said. “You wouldn’t know what I did after the game. Today, you know all those things. And I think that’s because the fans want to be connected with the athlete even greater.”
But because of this phenomenon, betters have a clearer vision of what may happen on the court.
“On top of that, these guys are looking at that to understand what the betting scenario is, or how they’re going to set their odds.”
