It wouldn’t feel like summer without Statham kicking butt on the big screen, after all!
Directed by French filmmaker Jean-François Richet ( Plane, The Emperor of Paris ), with a screenplay written by Lindsay Michel and J. P. Davis, Mutiny stars Statham as Cole Reed, a former Royal Marine (a special ops part of the U.K. Navy) who now works as a private body guard. When someone frames Cole for a crime he didn’t commit, he finds himself on board a massive container ship out at sea, on a quest to prove his innocence.
Mutiny also stars Annabelle Wallis, Adrian Lester, Jason Wong, and Roland Møller. Earlier this week, the Mutiny movie was briefly leaked on Prime Video , so if you were one of the lucky few to catch it, you got a chance to watch the movie online. The rest of us, however, will have to go to the movie theater to see this one. That said, if you want to wait to watch Mutiny at home, then read on to find what we know about where and when the Jason Statham Mutiny movie will be streaming.
For now, Mutiny will only be available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in theaters wide in the U.S. on Friday, August 21. You can find a showing near you via Fandango . Mutiny is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.
Mutiny is not streaming on Netflix right now, and likely will not stream on Netflix any time soon. Mutiny is a Lionsgate release, and Lionsgate has an output deal with Amazon Prime and Starz, not Netflix.
You will be able to purchase Mutiny on Amazon Prime Video, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital.
You will also be able to stream Mutiny on Prime for free eventually, thanks to the new deal between Lionsgate and Amazon that will send the 2026 Lionsgate movies to Amazon Prime for the “Pay 1” window, after the films play in theaters. The traditional “Pay 1” window is about four months, which would be around late December for Mutiny .

You might see Mutiny on Starz later this year, because it is a Lionsgate film, and Lionsgate extended its output deal with Starz, despite the fact the studios separated in 2025 . Supposedly, under the new terms of the deal, Starz will have exclusive rights to Lionsgate films post-theaters, and that the window will now come sooner after the movie’s theatrical run.
It’s not clear if this deal will continue into 2026, now that Lionsgate deal with Amazon is kicking in. Some of the 2026 Lionsgate movies have gone to Starz, while others have gone to Prime. For example, the 2026 Lionsgate movie Michael began streaming on Starz on August 10, about four months after the movie opened in the theaters.
If Mutiny follows the same release pattern, you might see the movie on Starz in about four months and some change, which would be around late December 2026 or early January 2027.
Starz typically costs $11.99/month, but right now, you can subscribe via Amazon Prime Video and get your first two months for just $0.99/month .
That said, another 2026 Lionsgtate movie, Greenland 2: Migration , went to streaming on HBO Max four months after it opened in theaters, rather than Starz or Prime Video.
So, it seems not all 2026 Lionsgate movies are following the same release pattern. Right now, we don’t have a clear look at Lionsgate’s 2026 release strategy. If you want to see Mutiny right away, you should go watch it in a movie theater.
